Anambra: 7 APC,PDP Governorship Aspirants To Defect To APGA

Seven governorship aspirants have reportedly indicated interest to join the Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to wrestle power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023. That the move by the unnamed politicians was linked to the victory of APGA in the just concluded Anambra governorship election won by Professor Charles Soludo.

According to reports, three of the seven governorship aspirants are from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while four are from the APC. It was gathered the chairman of APGA in Imo state, John Iwuala, spoke on the development but did not mention their names. Iwuala, however, said that since the victory of APGA in Anambra, he has been receiving congratulatory messages.

Meanwhile, the Senator Andy Uba Campaign Organisation has rejected the result of the just-concluded Anambra state governorship election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The campaign organisation described the outcome of the election as a charade, adding that it did not reflect the wishes of the people of the state.

In a statement in Abuja on behalf of the campaign organisation, Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe, alleged that the candidate of the APC, Senator Andy Uba is a victim of widespread electoral fraud and manipulation by INEC.
