On 29th May, 2019, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was sworn- in as the 4th democratically elected Governor of Gombe State.
In his inuagural speech, the governor assured everyone that contributed to his success that their efforts will never be in vain as he remained determined to pull the people out of the current state of hopelessness.
He acknowledged the exceptional courage, commitment and contributions of the women who defied all odds by coming out en- mass to vote for the APC in spite of intimidation and threats of violence, adding that the zeal and spirit shown by them will remain indelible.
Though philosophically but realistically the governor may have considered the support of women in picking a grass root mobilizer, aggressive politician and bridge builder,Hon .Mrs Naomi J.J.Awak as Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development. to help his administration in promoting the relevance of women, children and other vulnerable groups in decision making.
This could be attributable to one billion, three hundred and thirty- Nine million, five hundred thousand Naira (N1,339,500,000,00) allocated to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in 2022 fiscal year.
” Our administration has proved to be a break from the past, progressively moving from a culture of administrative recklessness, financial mismanagement, and political apathy to that of prudence, accountability, participation and responsibility”, this and more could be attested by the way and manner the Commissioner of women Affairs and Social Development has piloted the ministry to achieve a lot within the leadership of Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who lamented that the focus of 2022 budget would be towards achieving increase in State Gross Domestic Product ( GDP) per capita, high quality healthcare system, including food and nutrition security, promoting the role of women in development and protecting culture, heritage and the shared values.

Others are strengthening the security infrastructure, continued provision and modernization of infrastructure, strengthening and creating new poverty reduction initiatives predicated on skills acquisition, job creation and reduction unemployment and improved access to clean and safe water and sanitation.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who had virtually achieved the aforementioned promises in his two and half years in office, also made provision of affordable housing, universal access to quality education, promoting digital connectivity and rural electrification, strengthening the internal revenue generation drive, ease of doing business and fiscal responsibility and strengthening development partnership as well as protecting the environment and mitigating climate change as cardinal principles of his administration which statistically has recorded over 75 percent success due to team work enjoyed especially from the women, children and less privileged in the state.
