Gombe: Emir Confers Title On PS Jalo Ali

The Emir of Gombe, His Royal Highness,Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar 111, has conferred the title of “Makama Babba Gombe” on Alhaji  Ibrahim Jalo Ali, Permanent Secretary in charge of Budget in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

 Shehu Abubakar who also is the chairman of Gombe State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Emirs, routinely invests traditional titles on distinguished personalities, scholars, eminent administrators, technocrats, bureaucrats and public spirited individuals who have employed personal resources, talents,time to the development of Gombe State and Nigeria, especially in areas of scholarship and upliftment of society.

Recently, Emir Shehu Abubakar conferred the prestigious “Dan Majen Gombe”, title on the state Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his developmental strides and pragmatic leadership.

The newest title recipient, Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali, has won several awards, recognitions and commendations from different strata of the society. Speaking on the prestigious title on Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali, Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, commended His Royal Highness, Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar 111 for considering Jalo Ali worthy of the honour and hoped the Makama Babba Gombe would justify the confidence reposed on him by the Emir and entire state through redoubling his efforts, commitment, dedication and patriotism.

The Governor described Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali as a gentleman, hardworking and committed senior civil servant. It will be recalled that  Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali was born on July 8,1968 in Gombe.He attended Gombe Central Primary School from 1973 to 1980 and also attended Government Teachers’ College, Sakwa from 1980 to 1984 for secondary education. The young Jalo Ali attended the University of Maiduguri where he bagged B.Sc ( Hons) Economics from 1986 to 1991.

Ibrahim Jalo Ali who knows that education is power and gateway to a successful career, enrolled at the prestigious Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi for his post Graduate Diploma on Financial Management from 1986 to 1997.

The “Makama Baba Gombe”, who is a dedicated gentle man, started his working career as Planning Officer 11 and through dint of hard work rose to position of Director, Budget in the Gombe State Civil Service in 2009 before his appointment as Permanent Secretary.

Alhaji Jalo Ali has attended many workshops, seminars and conferences both locally and internationally among which is the Fiscal Policy and Budget for senior officials of the federal and state governments of Nigeria in Israel in 2011.

Other trainings include, International Public Sector Accounting Standards ( IPSAS), in United Arab Emirate,2011 and Economic Development Strategy for Nigeria in South Korea ,2014. Also, he attended the seminar on Debt Management Facility Stakeholders from ” Borrow Without Sorrow”, in Austria in 2017.

The Makama Babba Gombe is married with children, while his hobbies include reading, and traveling.
