Lagos: Fire Guts Ojodu Berger Estate

Some residents of River Valley Estate in Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State have lost millions worth of property following a late night fire incident. According to reports, the fire incident was said to have started from the flat of an Abuja based business man who deals in optical lenses and eye wears.

He used the apartment as a warehouse and had about two containers worth of good stocked in the flat. He was said to have packed the cartons of eye wears up to the ceiling in his apartment. He however debunked this allegation by saying he didn’t own a gas in the kitchen as the toilet and kitchen were piled with goods as well.

Meanwhile he was said to have a bed in one of the rooms. According to him, at the time the fire services got there, his room was not totally engulfed with the fire. He said a container of those goods was about $400,000. Speaking on his losses, he said he is still standing by the grace of God. Meanwhile, no life was lost in the fire incident.
