The Nigerian 63rd Independent Anniversary witnessed the Ultimate Circle of Nigeria (UCN), reach out to Bethorey Home for challenged persons in Lagos in celebration of the National Day.
UCN, one of Nigeria’s leading sociology-philanthropic family clubs, did this as part of its dedicated activities towards marking this year’s independence, when its members paid a scheduled visit to the home on Monday October 2, 2023 to celebrate with inmates and special workers.
Representing the UCN President, Hon. Lukman Olumoh, his predecessor, Adelaja Adeleye, who led the delegation, commended the challenged inmates for staying happy and praising God not withstanding the conditions they found themselves.
He said: “That you all remember to celebrate Nigeria, even in your challenged positions, calls for more reason to celebrate with you”.
Adelaja who presented the home with a UCN cheque of two hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N250,000) including bags of rice, other foods, beverages and toiletries, advised administrators of the home to seek ways of reaching out to other organisations especially those wishing to include the Bethorey home in their yearly corporate social responsibility activities.
He commended all the workers for their dedication, perseverance and passion with which they exemplify love and thoughtfulness in taking care of needs of the inmates.
He said that: “As you dedicate your time and energy in showing love to, and taking care of these needy ones, God Almighty will surely take care of your needs”.
He assured them of UCN’s continued support saying the home had been adopted by the club many years back.
